How do I convert my logo into a format for embroidery?
December 22nd, 2007 | by logo |BarkFitness Pet Sitting asked:
I am considering purchasing an embroidery sewing machine so I can make stuff with my own logo on it. Is there a place I can download my logo and have it converted into a format that can be downloaded into my machine and then sewn?

I have used them many times, their prices are good, my designs always stitch out great!
I got into the embroidery machines so I could do my shirts for my sailing club. There is a steep learning curve. Practice with your new maching on a few easy projects first. I got the Janome MC 9500 and joined the Yahoo! group for them. Lots of good information there!
Good Luck!

depending on the machine you decide to purchase if you purchase the software for the machine it might have an auto digitizing program. what that means is you load a picture of your logo into the program and it turns it into an embroidery design for you. there are so many yahoo groups dedicated to embroidery machines. I’m not saying that the first answer you got is a bad answer just giving you another option. there are a lot of companies and individuals that will do this. good luck.

Embroidery machines are a big expense. When making your decision, consider what you want to use it for, and what it comes with. For example, different size hoops, conversion software–each machine stitches in one format. You want to be able to find, create, or purchase designs in any format and be able to convert it to one that your machine can sew. As far as digitizing–I use CorelDrawingsX3. It has a graphics side, so you can create(paint or draw) your own designs. It has an autodigitizer, which will automatically digitize in whatever format you choose. Or you can scan or import a picture–.jpg, .wmf. etc, and it will digitize it! You can change colors of thread, pattern of stitches, create appliques, cross-stitch, etc. It is a little more costly than other software, but you get more for the money. Most digitizing software, you will find that as you learn and want to create more, you have spend more to upgrade. Also I found that having a machine that lets you connect directly to your computer (preferably a laptop) is a lot more convenient and cheaper than having to transfer designs to a card and then into a box (card reader) that plugs into your machine. Shop around because in the end–it’s a personal choice and what you’re more comfortable with. Hope this helps! If you need anything else, feel free to contact me.
