How to Design a logo - Time Lapse Logo Design (Sketching/Adobe Illustrator)

I filmed myself from start to finish, the process of designing a logo and time lapsed the whole thing for your viewing pleasure! :)

The Logo:

The brief required me to design a logo for “Saniware” a company which specializes in sanitary wares and bathroom toilet fixtures.

It was essential for the logo to have a distinct logo mark. This mark must be modern, fresh, uncomplicated, bold, positive, and best of all elegant. It also must express modernism, design, high quality and eco-friendliness.

I hope you enjoy!

Cheers,
Mason Roberts

I bought the Production Package from Adobe. It came with all the tools necessary for what I needed to do… but yes, it was quite expensive… Around $500 AUS and that was with a student discount!

If you just wish to put signatures on your digital works, I think you may want a Wacom Tablet… Essentially it is an on-screen writing pen!!! Check it out! :)

nice work man! I need some advice, I’m an artist & I need to find a way to put some details eg series name, signature ect at the bottom of my pictures before I get prints & stuff done, what do I need to buy for my pc so that I can do that, I tried using the paint program that comes with the pc but its a nightmare to use & probably totally not up to the job, this program ur using was it expensive, & do you need a powerful pc to run it? cheers.

    Hmmm, any pointers…

    - While the mouse is still down, hold space bar to more the point… (good for correcting mistakes)

    - While the mouse is down, hold the ALT (OPTION) key to alter the bezier handles.

    - You want the LEAST amount of points to maximize the smoothness of the curve/s.

    - Plan where your going to put your points, you will get used to it!!

That’s about it… But just remember to practice!!! :)

    Brilliant video mate.
One question, what tool do you use to re-create your scanned logo? Was it the pen tool? (sorry, I’m new to illustrator).

Cheers mate! Yeah, that is true… But things look different when converting from real world to the digital world!

That is why I get to a point on paper where I am happy with the design and if things happen to change whilst on the computer I go with the flow and it works out best that way!

Nice video. But i would try to finalize the whole thing on paper first.

Yes, i know, the computer has magical addiciton, where you can try different font-types for the headline/title text, but if i were you, in the future i would sit down to the computer only when i am 100% satisfied with the result on the paper. Anyway, i like your video and also you logo in the end result (with only 2 colors).

wow! has anyone else rubbed one out over this. i just came 4 times while watching that video, we should hook up magic man cos all people who do this kinda **** are *** right?

i have also uploaded it to pornotube and it is polling real well with other people who get off over watching the design process

    Cheers buddy!

It was for a logo competition and was very well received, but not the winner in the end! The competition meant I had a brief at hand to do this video in my own time! Perhaps in the future I will do a similar video for proper client!!

    Thanks again! :)
